L.A. Care Health Plan is a non-profit, community accountable health maintenance organization (HMO) that serves more than 750,000 Los Angeles County residents who participate in the Medi-Cal and Healthy Families programs. L.A. Care also administers the Healthy Kids program, which is offered by L.A. Care Health Plan and is sponsored by First 5 LA and the Children's Health Initiative of Greater Los Angeles. We are the nation’s largest public health plan and also one of California's largest health plans. We are dedicated to helping Los Angeles County residents obtain health care coverage for their families from providers who understand and respect them.Working on behalf of the communities we serve, at L.A. Care, we are connected to our members and responsible to our community. L.A. Care is governed by 13 board members, representing medical and health care professionals, as well as Medi-Cal consumers.
