It all started with a bright pink, 110 camera. It was a deluxe model with a flash built right in and a purple wrist strap. Everything in my little world was fair game, dolls, the cat, my younger sister. If it stood still for long enough, I'd snap a picture of it. I loved pouring over family photo albums when I was growing up and after looking at the faded, yellowed images so many times, I can easily pull them up in my memory. Little slices of life, frozen in time, portraits and snapshots are amoung our most valuable possesions. They serve to spark memories years later, long after the faces and lives have grown and changed.Now I consider myself very fortunate to be able to make my living through portrait photography. My style shows that a portrait is not only about recording what a person looks like, but also recording who they are. Portraits with smiles, frowns, skinned up knees and cherished toys can be found throughout my work.
