About Duclos left Fisher & Phillips, LLP
Employers and Individual Defendants A substantial part of TRSB`s employment practice includes representing individuals and small businesses that have been sued or that need legal advice. In fact, several of our attorneys came to TRSB after having practiced in large national firms that primarily represent employers. Employment Discrimination: Generally, employers are prohibited by law from discriminating on the basis of age, race, color, national origin, religion, disability, or gender. We assist employers in investigating employment discrimination complaints, negotiating to resolve related issues, implementing appropriate policies and procedures, and responding to administrative charges with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. We also defend employers or individuals in federal or state court. Hourly Wage and Overtime: Federal and Georgia law establish minimum hourly wages and maximum hours of work beyond which employees generally are entitled to overtime compensation. We work with small business employers in interpreting and complying with applicable statutes and regulations, establishing appropriate exempt and non-exempt classifications, complying with record-keeping requirements, dealing with Department of Labor audits, negotiating to resolve wage and hour disputes, and, if necessary, defending lawsuits in federal or state court.
