About Custom Design Homes
Owner, Marvin Smith, began his home building career early in life. Intrigued by building as a youth, he began working in construction at age 20. By age 22, he had opened his own home building business now known as Custom Design Homes. A respected and well-known community leader, Marvin has built homes for over 2000 families since 1969! Custom Design Homes is now a family business. Marvin's wife Jill designs most of the interior features, and his two children Staci and Shane started building new homes in 2000 under Marvin's guidance. He has been a long-time supporter of the North Richland Hills Police Department and has taken the initiative to restore some buildings in historical downtown Smithfield. He constructed the well-recognized Smithfield Train Depot in 1984. Additionally, Marvin has completed a new office building for Custom Design Homes that replicates an antique building. He has definitely played a role in making Northeast Tarrant County a better place for people to live. And through Marvin's leadership, Custom Design Homes has become a successful and respected home building business in Tarrant County.
