Chaparral's founder, Russell Kohn, has been a long-time member of the FileMaker Solutions Alliance, ran the FileMaker Special Interest Group of the Los Angeles Macintosh Group for many years, and has been on the Advisory Board and Topic Committee Coordinator for the FileMaker Developers in Southern California (FMDiSC) user group multiple times.
